Loomline is built on a simple principle: Your work belongs to you.

This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is handled across:

  • Loomline for iPad

1. The Core Rule

If you use the Mac or iPad app without iCloud Sync, your files never leave your device.

Loomline does not:

  • Track your projects
  • Read your markdown files
  • Transmit local content to us
  • Analyze your work

The Mac app is local-first.

2. What We Collect

Data collection depends on which services you use.

A. Loomline for Mac (Local Only)

If you only use the Mac app:

We collect:

  • Basic purchase information (through payment processor)
  • Optional crash diagnostics (if enabled by you via macOS)

We do NOT collect:

  • Your markdown files
  • Your project content
  • Your task data
  • Your local file system data

Your work stays on your machine.

B. iCloud Sync

If you use iCloud Sync:

Your files are synced through Apple's iCloud infrastructure. We do not operate the sync servers and do not have access to your synced data.

We do NOT:

  • Read your content
  • Analyze your writing
  • Sell your data

iCloud Sync exists only to replicate your files across your devices. Apple's privacy policies govern iCloud data handling.

C. AI Weave Generation

If you use AI Weave Generation (BYOK):

Your prompts and relevant document context are sent directly to the third-party AI provider you configure via your own API key.

We do not:

  • Train our own models on your data
  • Sell your data to AI providers

AI providers may temporarily process content to generate responses. Please review their privacy policies where applicable.

AI is optional. You can use Loomline fully without it.

D. Website

When visiting loomline.com:

We may collect:

  • Anonymous analytics (page views, referrers)
  • Basic device information (browser, OS)
  • Email address (if you voluntarily submit it)

We do not use invasive tracking or fingerprinting.

We avoid behavioral advertising.

3. Payments

Payments are processed by third-party providers (e.g., Stripe, Apple).

We do not store:

  • Full credit card numbers
  • Payment credentials

We receive confirmation of successful payment only.

4. Email Communications

If you provide your email address, we may use it to:

  • Send purchase confirmations
  • Send product updates
  • Notify you of feature releases

We do not send marketing spam.

You may unsubscribe at any time.

5. Data Retention

  • Local-only users: We store no project data.
  • iCloud Sync users: Data is managed by Apple's iCloud. Refer to Apple's data retention policies.

Backups may persist briefly for operational purposes.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access your data
  • Request deletion
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Withdraw consent

7. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect data, including:

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS)
  • Secure infrastructure providers
  • Access control policies

However, no system is perfectly secure.

8. Children's Privacy

Loomline is not directed at children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Loomline evolves.

If changes are material, we will:

  • Update the "Last updated" date
  • Notify users when appropriate
