Loomline Terms of Service

Welcome to Loomline.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Loomline Mac application, Loomline for iPad, iCloud Sync, AI features, and related websites (collectively, the "Services").

By purchasing, downloading, accessing, or using Loomline, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Overview

Loomline is a markdown-first project workspace designed for individual users.

We offer:

  • Loomline for Mac (one-time purchase)
  • Loomline for iPad (one-time purchase)
  • iCloud Sync (included with Mac and iPad apps)
  • AI Weave Generation (optional, bring your own API key)

2. Eligibility

You must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement
  • Comply with applicable laws in your jurisdiction

3. License (Mac App)

When you purchase Loomline for Mac, you are granted:

  • A non-exclusive
  • Non-transferable
  • Non-sublicensable license

to use the software on devices you own or control.

You may not:

  • Resell the software
  • Reverse engineer or redistribute it
  • Remove copyright notices

You own your files. We license the software.

4. Product Details

  • Mac App stores files locally on your device.
  • iPad App stores files locally on your device.
  • iCloud Sync keeps your files in sync across your Mac and iPad.
  • AI Weave Generation uses your own API key to connect to third-party AI providers.

The Mac app and iPad app are separate purchases unless otherwise stated.

5. Payments & Billing

Mac App

  • $19 one-time purchase.
  • Includes iCloud Sync and AI Weave Generation (BYOK).
  • Includes all updates within the current major version.
  • Future major versions may be paid upgrades (discounts may apply for existing users).

iPad App

  • $5 one-time purchase.
  • Includes iCloud Sync.

No subscriptions. No recurring billing.

6. Refund Policy

We offer a 7-day, no-questions-asked refund policy for:

  • Mac app purchases
  • iPad app purchases

After 7 days, payments are non-refundable except where required by law.

7. Your Content

You retain full ownership of all content you create using Loomline.

Mac App (Local)

Your files remain on your machine. We do not have access to them unless you choose to share them.

iCloud Sync

Files synced via iCloud are stored and transmitted through Apple's iCloud infrastructure. We do not operate the sync servers.

We do not claim ownership of your content.

You are responsible for backing up your data.

8. AI Features

AI features:

  • May generate structured weaves, text suggestions, or drafts.
  • Are optional and require you to provide your own API key (BYOK).

You are responsible for reviewing and verifying AI output.

We make no guarantees regarding accuracy, originality, or suitability of AI-generated content.

AI functionality may evolve over time.

9. Acceptable Use

You may not use Loomline to:

  • Violate laws
  • Infringe intellectual property rights
  • Distribute malware
  • Store or transmit illegal material
  • Abuse infrastructure or services

We reserve the right to suspend access for abuse of services.

10. Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable services, but:

  • iCloud Sync and AI features depend on third-party services and are provided "as available."
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to third-party services.
  • Features may evolve or change.

The Mac and iPad apps function fully offline without third-party services.

11. Updates & Changes

We may:

  • Improve or modify features
  • Release new versions
  • Discontinue features

We will not remove core purchased functionality without notice.

Major version upgrades may require a new purchase.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

Loomline and its creators are not liable for:

  • Data loss
  • Business interruption
  • Indirect or consequential damages
  • AI-generated inaccuracies
  • Service downtime

Total liability is limited to the amount paid in the preceding 12 months.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

Loomline is provided "as is" and "as available."

We do not guarantee:

  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Continuous availability
  • Error-free operation

You use the Services at your own risk.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to services if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • You abuse infrastructure
  • Required by law

Local Mac app usage cannot be remotely disabled unless required by legal action.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in the applicable jurisdiction.
